This thick and smooth emulsion ball-point pen with black ink is available in ballpoint diameter of 0.5mm or 0.7mm, with a shaft color options of: Light blue, mint green, light pink, purple

"bLen", a ballpoint pen that controls vibrations that occur during writing, is an internationally prestigious design award "iF Design Award 2021" (sponsored by iF International Forum) that selects excellent designs for industrial products around the world. Design GmbH) was awarded in April 2021. The iF Design Award is the world's oldest design competition since 1953, and is known as one of the world's three largest design awards. "bLen" has also won the 2019 Good Design Award, and this is the second design award. 

About the bLen series

Function

In order to control the vibration during writing, a new mechanism "bLen system" with three points is adopted.

(a) Direct touch: Holds the tip of the core when knocking and writing to prevent the pen tip from shaking.

(b) Low center of gravity: A metal weight is placed inside the grip to lower the center of gravity and prevent writing blurring.

(c) Noise-free design:

Eliminates gaps in each part inside the pen and prevents blurring inside the pen. See figures (a) to (c) in picture, respectively.

Design

bLen's design collaborated with the design office nendo led by Mr. Oki Sato to express stress-free writing comfort with body design. In line with the low center of gravity internal design, the exterior has a body shape that is easy to grip and does not get tired even after long-term use. It is a seamless design with no seams.

Writing vibration is caused by the friction between the pen and paper during writing. It is transmitted to the finger holding the pen, and becomes stress without realizing it. Emulsion ink Emulsion ink is a mixture of oil-based ink and water-based ink, which has both inks’ features, such as light writing comfort and water resistance.
